John Waters

I have worked in TV as a freelance wildlife cameraman for over 25 years.
This has included work on many of the David Attenborough series for the BBC.

Most recently I have filmed on series 3 and 4 of “Meerkat Manor” and was, in 2008, nominated for an EMMY for ‘Outstanding Cinematography’ for series 3. I have just finished filming a series set in Scotland on the secret lives of cats. Yes, pet cats … it’s light-hearted, so think along the lines of ‘Desperate Housecats’!

I am currently working on a major series about animal migration for the BBC.
Filming has taken me from the arctic to the tropical rainforest and almost every environment in between but I am always very glad to get back to Somerset where I have lived for the past 15 years. I am particularly drawn to the Levels which was once a huge swamp, and today – despite man’s efforts for centuries to drain it – you can see that water is lurking just below the surface, and doesn’t need much excuse to make its presence felt.
